GTA 6 Pre-Load Time: When You Can Start Downloading on November 10 in Your Time Zone

You can pre-load GTA 6 from November 10, two days earlier than first reported, Rockstar confirmed on November 3. On PS5 it unlocks at midnight local time; on Xbox Series X|S it unlocks everywhere at the same moment, 12 a.m. GMT, which is the evening of November 9 in North America. Here's exactly when you can start downloading where you live.

How big is the download?

Who can pre-load?

• Digital pre-orders from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store: the download starts automatically if your console is set to download updates, or you can start it from your library.
• Boxed copies contain a download code instead of a disc and reach stores on November 12. Redeem the code to start downloading.

When can you actually play?

Tips for a smooth pre-load

• Clear the space now, not at midnight on pre-load day.
• Leave your console in rest mode with downloads allowed so it keeps going overnight.
• Use a wired connection if you can: 212GB takes hours on Wi-Fi.
• Only download from the official PlayStation or Xbox store. "Early download" files online are scams, and some have been reported as malware.

Two extra days of pre-load is a nice surprise, and with a download this big, you'll need it. Xbox players in North America get a head start on the evening of November 9, so plan your evening accordingly.
