GTA 6 release date

GTA 6 is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026. That's the date Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two have given, and Rockstar repeated it in August 2026.

It's been a long road. Rockstar first aimed for fall 2025, then moved the game to May 26, 2026, and then to November 19, 2026. Take-Two has said it doesn't expect more delays, but until launch day nothing is 100% certain.

Which platforms is GTA 6 on?

  • PlayStation 5: yes, at launch.
  • Xbox Series X|S: yes, at launch.
  • PC: not announced yet. Rockstar has a history of releasing PC versions later (GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both came to PC after consoles), so a PC version is likely at some point. But there is no official PC date. Treat any "confirmed PC date" you see online as a rumor.
  • PS4 and Xbox One: not announced. GTA 6 is a current-generation game.

Where is GTA 6 set, and who are the main characters?

From Rockstar's trailers: GTA 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, Rockstar's take on Florida, including a modern version of Vice City. The story follows two main characters, Lucia and Jason, a criminal duo.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

You'll see lots of numbers online. The safest place for the real price and pre-order details is the official PlayStation Store or Xbox Store listing. Don't buy "early access" or "beta keys" from random websites. They're scams.

When is the next GTA 6 news?

Take-Two reports its quarterly results on November 6, 2026. Fans expect more marketing, and maybe another trailer, in the weeks before launch. Rockstar usually announces big news on its own website and on X first.
