White Dwarf 530: Adeptus Custodes, Khazalite Holds and Grombrindal's Expedition

White Dwarf issue 530 is up for pre-order, and it's a big one for the Adeptus Custodes, with an Age of Sigmar section on the new Khazalite Holds and a returning hero for duardin fans. Here's what's inside, in short.

Adeptus Custodes on the cover

The issue opens with a lore piece on the long honour-names the Custodians earn through their deeds, so you can learn where some of those titles come from.

Battle report: Custodes vs Genestealer Cults

The Custodes take on a Genestealer Cult uprising that threatens a whole subsector, in a full battle report with a ruined hive-city table.

Kill Team: The Tyrant's Claim

A new Joint Ops mission for Kill Team, where your teams try to hold the line against Huron Blackheart and his raiders as they hit your supply lines.

Age of Sigmar: the Khazalite Holds

For Age of Sigmar there's background and lore on the new Khazalite Holds faction, interviews with the artists behind the new battletome, and a step-by-step painting guide from the 'Eavy Metal team for the colours of Karak Angaraz. If you missed the models, see the full Khazalite Holds range.

Grombrindal returns

The magazine's own mascot, Grombrindal, the White Dwarf, gets a new Legends warscroll, plus rules for a new Army of Renown, Grombrindal's Expedition, with Old Whitebeard leading a force of wandering duardin.

Everything else

• The Bunker, plus scenarios of the month for Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar.
• Tear-out rules for the Stormsurge and Wraithknight in Titanic Duel.
• A guide to starting a gang in the Necromunda Underhive.

White Dwarf 530 is available to pre-order now; check Warhammer Community or your local store for price and dates.

My take

Custodes players get their issue, but the real surprise is Grombrindal's Expedition. An Army of Renown led by White Dwarf himself is the kind of fun, slightly silly army people actually build. Are you picking this one up?
