It's the end of an era for last-gen Call of Duty players. Warzone's servers on PS4 and Xbox One go offline on November 6, 2026, the same day Modern Warfare 4 Season One begins. That makes November 5 the last full day you can drop into Warzone on those consoles.

The key dates
- June 2026: new downloads and reinstalls of Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One were stopped.
- June 25, 2026: in-game purchases were turned off on those consoles.
- November 5, 2026: the last full day to play on PS4 and Xbox One.
- November 6, 2026: servers go offline on PS4 and Xbox One as Modern Warfare 4 Season One launches.
Why it's happening
Warzone is now tied to Modern Warfare 4, which is made only for current-generation hardware. Keeping the older PS4 and Xbox One versions running alongside it no longer fits, so they're being switched off.
What happens to your stuff?
- Warzone itself isn't going anywhere. It stays playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
- Unused COD Points stay in the same console family: PS4 points can be used on PS5, and Xbox One points on Xbox Series X|S, according to Activision.
- No refunds for add-ons you bought on PS4 or Xbox One, according to reports. But that content can still be used where Warzone remains available.
- If you've been playing on a PS4 or Xbox One, the move to a current-gen console (or PC) is the way to keep playing.
What to do before November 6
- Play your last matches on November 5 if you want a proper send-off.
- Check that your Activision account is linked, so your progress and content carry over when you play on another platform.
- Upgrading? Black Friday is weeks away, and that's usually the best time of year for console deals. See our Black Friday console price guide.
- On PS5 and short on space? Between Modern Warfare 4 and GTA 6 at about 210GB, storage fills up fast. Here's how to add an M.2 SSD to a PS5.
My take
PS4 and Xbox One had a long run with Warzone, and plenty of players are still on those consoles, so this one will sting. With Modern Warfare 4 being current-gen only, it was coming. If you're one of the last-gen holdouts, Black Friday is the time to upgrade. Were you still playing on a PS4 or Xbox One?
