The Duskbloods Delayed to 2027: FromSoftware's Switch 2 Exclusive Slips After Network Test

FromSoftware's Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, has been delayed from 2026 to 2027. The studio behind Elden Ring announced the delay on October 29, 2026, pointing to feedback from the game's August network test. Here's what we know.

The key facts

• New release window: 2027. FromSoftware didn't give a more exact date.
• Platform: Nintendo Switch 2 only.
• Status: FromSoftware says the game is in its "final adjustment stage".
• Why: feedback from the August 2026 network test. Players showed particular interest in the game's combat, strategic depth and player expression, and the extra time will go toward changes to rules and balance, plus fixing issues found in the test.

What happened in the network test

The August network test didn't go smoothly. Reports say the first session was cut short because of server problems, and early impressions suggested some players found the game's objectives and progression hard to follow. FromSoftware's statement says the delay is meant to address that feedback.

What it means for Switch 2 owners

The Duskbloods was one of the biggest exclusives on Switch 2's 2026 schedule, so its absence leaves a gap this holiday season. If you're buying a Switch 2 as a gift this year, the Mario Kart World bundle and the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle are the main options. My take

A delay hurts, but FromSoftware taking extra time after a rough network test is usually a good sign: its games are famous for polish once they finally arrive. Better a great Duskbloods in 2027 than a rushed one this year. Were you planning to buy a Switch 2 for it?
