When does Part 2 come out?
January 2027 in Japan. No exact premiere day or international streaming date has been announced yet. Simulcasts usually start the same day as Japan, so expect it on the same US service as Part 1.
What will Part 2 cover?
Season 3 is adapting the Monster Association arc, the huge raid where the Hero Association storms the monsters' underground base. It's one of the most loved parts of the manga, with Garou's story building toward one of the biggest fights in the series. Part 2 should push deep into the raid.
The animation controversy
Part 1 drew a lot of criticism for its animation quality, especially compared with Madhouse's legendary first season. J.C. Staff is still the studio for Part 2. Fans are hoping the extra time between parts means a better-looking second half.

One Punch Man watch order
- Season 1 (2015, Madhouse): 12 episodes, plus OVAs
- Season 2 (2019, J.C. Staff): 12 episodes, plus OVAs
- Season 3 Part 1 (2025, J.C. Staff)
- Season 3 Part 2 (January 2027)
The OVAs are fun side episodes but not needed for the story.
My take
Season 1 is one of the best-animated action anime ever made, so every season after it gets compared to that. Even with the animation complaints, the Monster Association arc is too good to skip. If Part 1 put you off, read the manga while you wait for January.
