Where does Season 2 pick up?
Right where the first series left off in 2021. Season 1 ran for 170 episodes and ended with Asta and his devil Liebe becoming partners, just before Asta has to face Nacht, the vice-captain of the Black Bulls. Season 2 kicks off from that point, so if it's been a while, it's worth rewatching the last few episodes of Season 1 (the Spade Kingdom arc) before you jump in.
Do I need to rewatch all 170 episodes?
No. If you watched Black Clover back then, a quick recap of the Spade Kingdom arc is enough. If you're brand new, you'll want to start from episode 1. Season 1 is on Crunchyroll too, and it gets much better after the slow first episodes, so don't give up early.
Why it took so long
The anime stopped in 2021 because it had almost caught up with the manga. Yuki Tabata's manga then moved to a slower schedule and only finished in May 2026. With the story complete, the anime can now adapt the ending without filler.

Is there an English dub?
Crunchyroll hasn't confirmed an English dub schedule for Season 2 yet. Season 1 got a full English dub, so one is likely. We'll update this page when it's announced.
My take
I watched all of Season 1, and the late arcs were where Black Clover really hit its stride: better animation, bigger fights and the Black Bulls at their best. Coming back with a finished manga means this season can tell the ending properly. If you dropped it early, this is the time to come back.
