Stellar Blade is out on Nintendo Switch 2, and the big headline isn't just that it runs: the Complete Edition puts the whole game on a full 32GB cartridge, with every DLC included. No game-key card, no giant day-one download. Here's what you get, how it runs and whether it's worth it.

Why the cartridge matters
A lot of big third-party games on Switch 2 ship as game-key cards: the box holds a key, and you still download the whole game. That's a sore point for many players, because it eats storage and depends on servers staying online.
Stellar Blade goes the other way. Everything is on the 32GB cartridge, so you can put it in and play, and it'll still work years from now. For a big action game, that's a nice change.

What's in the Complete Edition
You get the full story of Eve, who drops to a ruined Earth to take it back from monsters called the Naytiba, along with everything released for the game since launch:

How does it run on Switch 2?
According to Shift Up, the game targets 1080p (upscaled with DLSS) when docked and 720p in handheld, aiming for 60 FPS in both modes. To get there, it runs from a 30 FPS base and uses frame generation (FSR 3.1 frame interpolation), which is switched on by default.
Reviews mostly agree it's an impressive port, with some trade-offs:
- Several reviewers call it one of the best ports on Switch 2 so far, and some even prefer it to the PS5 version in places.
- Frame rate varies: one review saw around 45 to 60 FPS in handheld, another 30 to 40 FPS with frame generation off.
- Big fights with lots of enemies can still cause dips, though one reviewer said it never dropped below 30.

Is it worth it?
If you never played Stellar Blade on PS5 or PC and you love fast, parry-heavy action games, this is an easy pick: $59.99 for everything, on a real cartridge you can play anywhere. You can find the Stellar Blade Complete Edition at the usual stores. If you already finished it on PS5, the Bayonetta outfits alone are probably not enough reason to buy it again.

My take
Putting the full game on the cartridge is the kind of thing that wins players over. It shows respect for people who buy physical, and it means this version will still work long after download servers go quiet. If the frame generation holds up for you, it's a strong way to play. Are you picking it up, or did you already play it on PS5?
