Games Workshop has confirmed that Codex: Blood Angels is coming in spring 2027, and it brings new miniatures with it. The first one is already revealed: Sanguinary High Priest Corbulo, bearer of the Red Grail, is back with a brand new model.

Codex: Blood Angels in spring 2027

The Blood Angels are getting their own codex in the spring. GW showed a first piece of the new art: a Blood Angels captain charging at the head of his brothers, with jump-pack warriors overhead and the black-armoured Death Company in the crowd. GW didn't give an exact date or price yet, so expect pre-orders to be announced closer to release.

Corbulo is back

Brother Corbulo is the Sanguinary High Priest of the Blood Angels, the chapter's most famous Apothecary-priest. He carries the Red Grail, one of the chapter's holiest relics, and spends his life searching for a cure for the curse in the Blood Angels' gene-seed.

The new model shows him raising the Red Grail high in one hand, with a big chainsword in the other. The details are lovely: the winged blood-drop markings, white Sanguinary Priest shoulder pads, vials on his belt and a bionic eye lens you can see in the close-up.

Chaplain with Jump Pack in December

Blood Angels players don't have to wait until spring for everything. GW says the December Warhammer 40,000 update adds a datasheet for the Blood Angels Chaplain with Jump Pack, a favourite for leading Death Company and Assault Intercessors into close combat.

Getting ready for the new codex

If you want to start or grow an army before spring, the classics are a good base. The Blood Angels Combat Patrol is the usual starting box. Fan favourites include Death Company, Sanguinary Guard and the chapter's heroes Commander Dante and Mephiston. You'll also need Mephiston Red, the classic Blood Angels red.
