October has been one of Monad's busiest months so far. MON is now tradable on Robinhood, the team behind Monad showed a privacy system built for banks, and new stablecoins and real-world assets are coming to the network. Here's what happened, in plain English, and what it means.

Last updated October 25, 2026.

This is news, not financial advice. MON's price can move a lot in both directions. Never invest money you can't afford to lose.

MON is now on Robinhood

On October 5, Monad announced that MON trading is live on Robinhood. Robinhood's crypto pages list Monad (MON) among its supported coins in the US and the EU.

Why it matters: Robinhood is one of the biggest trading apps for everyday investors. Before, buying MON usually meant using a crypto exchange or a wallet. Now millions of Robinhood users can buy it in the same app they use for stocks. A listing doesn't guarantee demand, though. Some early reports noted very low trading volume in the first day.

Private Settlement: Monad's pitch to banks

On October 6, at Monad's OPEN 2026 conference in Singapore, Category Labs (the team that builds Monad's core technology) revealed Monad Private Settlement.

The idea, in simple terms:

  • Banks, funds and other institutions could run their own private, encrypted areas on Monad. Transactions, balances and even the code inside are hidden from the public.
  • Those private areas still settle on the main Monad network, so they can use the same liquidity as everyone else.
  • Each private area is set up with a normal smart contract. According to Monad, no fork or protocol change is needed.
  • The owner of each area decides who can see what, including auditors or regulators when needed.

Important: this is a design, not a finished product. Category Labs hasn't given a launch date, and no bank partners have been named yet. Still, the market liked the idea. MON reportedly jumped about 18% after the privacy tease in Singapore.

Stablecoins and real-world assets

  • Singapore dollar stablecoin: StraitsX plans to bring its XSGD (Singapore dollar) and XUSD (US dollar) stablecoins to Monad, Monad announced on October 1.
  • Tokenized Treasuries: Plume Vaults, a platform for real-world assets like tokenized US Treasuries, went live on Monad mainnet around October 10.
  • Reinsurance yield: OnRe's nONYC token brought regulated, reinsurance-linked yield to Monad through Plume Vaults on October 13.

Put together, Monad is clearly aiming beyond memecoins and trading: payments, institutions and real-world finance.

Under the hood

Monad's September update also reported that MIP-8 is live on mainnet, an upgrade that makes storing data on the network more efficient. And the Metropolis hackathon offered builders more than $250,000 in prizes across four tracks, with submissions closing on October 13.

What about the MON price?

MON is still trading at just a few cents: about $0.021 on Robinhood on October 25, well below the $0.033 level it struggled with in mid-October, and investors are keeping an eye on the next big token unlock on November 24, when more tokens become sellable. I explained it in What is Monad (MON)? The November 24 token unlock explained.

The wider market isn't helping either: Ethereum is down more than 12% over the past month, and several big traders have been reducing their altcoin positions.

My take

As someone who launched a small coin on Monad, I like where this is going. A Robinhood listing brings normal people closer to the network, and privacy for banks could bring serious money, if it actually ships. But announcements aren't adoption. The real test is whether stablecoins, institutions and everyday users actually show up and stay. I'll keep following it here.
