Part 4 of our Stardew Valley walkthrough is a full checklist for the Community Center. It covers all six rooms and their standard bundles in version 1.6, what each bundle needs, where to get the hard items, and what you unlock for finishing each room. It ends with the Missing Bundle and the Movie Theater.

Part 5: Year 2+Year 2 and the endgame: Ginger Island, Mr. Qi, Mastery and Perfection

Before you start

  • You open the Community Center after Lewis shows you inside in Spring. The bundles appear once you can read the Junimo scrolls (the Wizard handles this in his tower).
  • The Crafts Room opens first. Finishing bundles opens the others: the Pantry and Fish Tank soon after your first bundle, the Boiler Room after two bundles, the Bulletin Board after three and the Vault after four.
  • Some bundles say "choose X". You only need that many of the items shown.
  • If a bundle asks for a quality (like gold), better quality also works.
  • Remixed bundles: 1.6 lets you pick "Remixed" bundles when you start a new save. This page lists the standard bundles. If your items look different, you're on Remixed.
  • The other path is JojaMart: buy a membership and pay for each project instead. You can't do both, and the Joja route skips the bundles.

Crafts Room: reward, the Quarry bridge

  • Spring Foraging: wild horseradish, daffodil, leek, dandelion.
  • Summer Foraging: grape, spice berry, sweet pea.
  • Fall Foraging: common mushroom, wild plum, hazelnut, blackberry.
  • Winter Foraging: winter root, crystal fruit, snow yam, crocus.
  • Construction: 99 wood, 99 wood, 99 stone, 10 hardwood. Reward: a Charcoal Kiln. Hardwood comes from large stumps on your farm (with a copper axe or better) and the Secret Woods.
  • Exotic Foraging (choose 5): coconut, cactus fruit, cave carrot, red mushroom, purple mushroom, maple syrup, oak resin, pine tar, morel. Coconut and cactus fruit are desert items. Resin, syrup and tar come from Tappers on trees. Cave carrots drop in the mines.

Finishing the room repairs the bridge to the Quarry, a great spot for stone, ore and geodes.

Pantry: reward, the Greenhouse

  • Spring Crops: parsnip, green bean, cauliflower, potato.
  • Summer Crops: tomato, hot pepper, blueberry, melon.
  • Fall Crops: corn, eggplant, pumpkin, yam.
  • Quality Crops (choose 3): 5 gold parsnips, 5 gold melons, 5 gold pumpkins, 5 gold corn. Reward: a Preserves Jar. Use Quality Fertilizer and level up Farming.
  • Animal (choose 5): large milk, large brown egg, large egg, large goat milk, wool, duck egg. Reward: a Cheese Press. "Large" products come from happy animals you pet every day.
  • Artisan (choose 6): truffle oil, cloth, goat cheese, cheese, honey, jelly, apple, apricot, orange, peach, pomegranate, cherry. Reward: a Keg. The fruit comes from fruit trees (sold by Pierre) or the Traveling Cart.

Finishing the Pantry restores the Greenhouse on your farm, where crops grow in every season.

Fish Tank: reward, the Glittering Boulder is removed

  • River Fish: sunfish, catfish, shad, tiger trout.
  • Lake Fish: largemouth bass, carp, bullhead, sturgeon.
  • Ocean Fish: sardine, tuna, red snapper, tilapia.
  • Night Fishing: walleye, bream, eel.
  • Crab Pot (choose 5): lobster, crayfish, crab, cockle, mussel, shrimp, snail, periwinkle, oyster, clam. Reward: 3 Crab Pots. Beach items (cockle, mussel, oyster, clam) can also be picked up on the sand.
  • Specialty Fish: pufferfish, ghostfish, sandfish, woodskip. Reward: 5 Dish o' The Sea. Pufferfish: ocean, Summer, sunny days, noon to 4pm. Ghostfish: the mines. Sandfish: the desert. Woodskip: the Secret Woods.

Finishing the Fish Tank clears the Glittering Boulder in the mountains, which lets you get the Copper Pan for panning ore in shimmering water.

Boiler Room: reward, the minecarts

  • Blacksmith's: copper bar, iron bar, gold bar. Reward: a Furnace.
  • Geologist's: quartz, earth crystal, frozen tear, fire quartz. Frozen tears come from floors 40 to 79, fire quartz from 80 and below.
  • Adventurer's (choose 2): 99 slime, 10 bat wings, solar essence, void essence. Slime is the easiest pick.

Finishing the Boiler Room repairs the minecarts, a fast way around the valley.

Bulletin Board: reward, friendship

  • Chef's: maple syrup, fiddlehead fern, truffle, poppy, maki roll, fried egg. Reward: 3 Pink Cakes. Fiddlehead ferns grow in the Secret Woods in Summer. Truffles come from pigs.
  • Dye: red mushroom, sea urchin, sunflower, duck feather, aquamarine, red cabbage. Red cabbage seeds are only sold by Pierre from Year 2, so most players finish this one later.
  • Field Research: purple mushroom, nautilus shell, chub, frozen geode. Reward: a Recycling Machine.
  • Fodder: 10 wheat, 10 hay, 3 apples. Reward: a Heater.
  • Enchanter's: oak resin, wine, rabbit's foot, pomegranate. Reward: 5 gold bars. Rabbits live in a Deluxe Coop.

Finishing the Bulletin Board gives you a large friendship boost with the villagers you can't marry.

Vault: reward, the bus

  • 2,500g, 5,000g, 10,000g and 25,000g. That's 42,500g in total.

Finishing the Vault repairs the bus to the Calico Desert: the Oasis shop (starfruit, beet and cactus seeds, coconuts), sandfish, the Skull Cavern and the new Desert Festival in Spring.

What happens when you finish

  1. After all six rooms are done, a cutscene plays at the Community Center. Joja closes for good.
  2. Willy's boat can now be repaired, leading to Ginger Island (see Part 5).
  3. The Missing Bundle appears in the old JojaMart. It asks for 5 of these: silver quality (or better) wine, dinosaur mayonnaise, prismatic shard, gold ancient fruit, gold void salmon and caviar. Finishing it turns JojaMart into the Movie Theater.

Hardest items and how to plan for them

  • Red cabbage: wait for Year 2 Summer at Pierre's.
  • Rabbit's foot and truffle: need a Deluxe Coop and a Deluxe Barn, so save up early.
  • Pufferfish and sturgeon: tough fish. Upgrade your rod and use bait.
  • Duck feather and duck egg: build a Big Coop and buy ducks from Marnie.
  • Woodskip and fiddlehead fern: both need the Secret Woods, which needs a steel axe.

Tips for this part

  • Check the bundle list at the start of every season. Seasonal items are a whole year away if you miss them.
  • Keep one "bundle chest" and drop items in as you find them.
  • Finish the Pantry early. The Greenhouse makes every other crop bundle easier.
  • Do the Vault in pieces. Each gold bundle is paid on its own, so pay the small ones as soon as the room opens.

My take

The bundles are the heart of Stardew for me. They push you to try fishing, mining and animals even if you only wanted to farm. Most of my saves finish the Community Center some time in Year 2, and red cabbage is nearly always the last item. Which bundle took you the longest?

FAQ

Can you finish the Community Center in Year 1?

It's very hard with standard bundles. Red cabbage seeds only reach Pierre's in Year 2, so most players finish early in Year 2 unless they get lucky at the Traveling Cart.

What does each Community Center room unlock?

Crafts Room: the Quarry bridge. Pantry: the Greenhouse. Fish Tank: the Glittering Boulder is cleared. Boiler Room: the minecarts. Bulletin Board: friendship with villagers. Vault: the bus to the desert.

Should I choose Joja or the Community Center?

Most players prefer the Community Center. It gives item rewards and fun events. Joja is faster if you have lots of gold, but you miss the bundle rewards.

What is the Missing Bundle?

A bonus bundle in the old JojaMart after you finish the Community Center. Completing it opens the Movie Theater.
