Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector turns 5

• Free update on Warhammer Day: Warhammer Community says a free update lands on Warhammer Day with a new map, new gameplay options and a major rebalance of units across the game. Windows Central reports it includes a new Skirmish map, more weapon options for the T'au and Ultramarines, and Tyranid balance changes.
• Xbox Play Anywhere: live from today, October 29, so one purchase covers Xbox and Windows PC.
• Courage and Catastrophe DLC: the next big DLC arrives on December 14, adding a 13-mission story campaign and three new units. Windows Central reports the campaign is set on the mining world of Foran Prime and the units belong to a faction that hasn't been revealed yet.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster

Deathmaster is a 2D stealth action platformer from Old Skull Games and publisher Dotemu, first announced at the Warhammer Skulls showcase in May. You play Vihneek, a Skaven assassin of Clan Eshin with big ambitions. He's freed by Skiteek, a fellow assassin from Clan Skrell, but his saviour becomes his new captor: Clan Skrell uses him as a weapon, sending him on deadly contracts. Every kill pushes him higher in the clan, while rival clans close in.

Platforms and timing: Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, in 2027. There's no exact date yet.

Wētā Workshop teases its next 1:10 statue

Wētā Workshop, the New Zealand studio famous for its film work, is making its next highly detailed 1:10 scale Warhammer statue. All we get for now is a silhouette: a huge armoured figure with a spiked halo, and a "Coming Soon" tag. Warhammer Community says the full reveal comes later this year. Who do you think it is?

Warhammer Day sales

Warhammer Community points to Warhammer Day video game sales at GOG, Gamesplanet, Fanatical, GamersGate and Green Man Gaming. Discounts and dates are set by each store, so check the store page before you buy.

In Warhammer stores, Warhammer Day brings this year's commemorative miniature, Oath Fulfilled, a Slaves to Darkness model for Age of Sigmar.

My take

As an Ultramarines player, I'm happy to see a blue-armoured captain front and centre on the new Battlesector art, and a free update plus a 13-mission campaign is a nice way to mark five years. Deathmaster still looks like the most unusual Warhammer game in a while. And that Wētā silhouette has me guessing. Which one are you most excited about?
